On Saturday, March 5th, Melissa Metzke and Naomi Mackenzie of CrossFit Newport Beach ran 19 hours and dedicated it to Mammograms in Action. Naomi completed 50 miles!!!! Melissa completed 54 miles in 13 hours, which was a 5-hour PR!!! The run was a personal goal of Melissa’s, that she has had since having back surgery 10 months ago. Setting this goal was an important part of her recovery progress. Naomi made it a reality by volunteering to do it with Mel. Setting personal goals like this are too often lost in the planning. But her commitment made it a team effort that just couldn’t fail! You ladies rock!
On Saturday, April 2nd Romeo Ingreso from Canyon CrossFit did 3000 burpees to honor his mom and give back to MIA. He finished his project in 5 hours and 45 minutes. Thank you Romeo for all your hard work.
