As awareness of proactive health care grows, so will Mammograms In Action with nationwide grants planned for 2012 and future outreach to international assistance programs. MIA is grateful for the incredible support of the CrossFit community, along with Reebok and CrossFit Journal, and the significant impact of local fundraising events such as: Barbells for Boobs, Amazing Grace, Helen Meets Grace, Burpees for Boobs, 19 Hour Run, Bikes for Books and their non-profit affiliate team CrossFit for Boobs. Their hope is that their work will ensure straightforward access to mammogram services for any man or woman in need and someday MIA will not not have to exist. Until then, they will dedicate each day to this goal and truly believe that every person really does matter.
Mammograms In Action (MIA) is a 501(c)3 non-profit breast cancer organization with the mission to provide funding for qualified low-income and uninsured women and men who need screening and/or diagnostic procedures in the prevention of breast cancer.

Amazing “Grace” began as a small, local fundraising event to help fund mammograms for the young women of Southern California who couldn’t afford one themselves. Thanks to a ton of support (and sweat!) from our local CrossFit community, we were able to raise $4000 and support our very first woman with preventative screening and diagnostic procedures.
Before we knew it, we were receiving countless emails and phone calls from CrossFit affiliates from around the world asking how they could participate and help our cause. We are proud to say, that just one year after the inaugural event, we were in 5 countries, had over 400 CrossFit Affiliates get involved, over 5,000 participants and raised over $300,000 in the 2010 Amazing “Grace” fundraiser.
